  what do you do to fill the void of the time left that was devoted to the religion?

  Exactly what I did when I was a JW.........except without any hesitation, and usually throwing all concern for health and well being out the window..I LIVE..surf, drink, punk rock-n-roll......and then I come home to my beautiful family, and drown myself in bliss.

  pancreatic cancer and prayer

  a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with cancer throughout her pancreas.

  this is usually a deadly and rapidly lethal cancer.

  at my bible study group prayer requests were taken and i placed her name in for prayer.

  hi everyone, well im totally new at this but i thought i would give it a go anyway.so here is my story(short version).

  well i have been with my boyfriend for 2yrs now and the last 4months he has started to get back into witnessing.

  i have said from day one that i dont want to be one, but i did attend a meeting, memorial and some studys i did this for him to see what it was all about.

  Boy.....what the hell is this?.......You need to look up fiveangels, and have a heart to heart talk. You're both dealing with JW dudes. I wish i could talk to these guys, and bonk their heads for you..but I can't, and you're up against a lot..anyways.check out her post, and the various comments there-in.

  hi,is it wrong to turn in a committedjw who has been sleeping with someone at the same time he goes to meetings and such and what would happen to that person if he was found out-what would happen to the person that turned him in.

  Wow. This is the kind of shit that usually happens to a JW in high school/college........not after. In turning him in, you may think it will help him to make his decision to be with you a little easier.or push him to at least make a decision, and stop flip-flopping. IT WILL BACKFIRE. He'll be drawn in, Disfellowshipped maybe.and then he will spend all his time determined to be re-instated. And, end up shunning you..........this is all theoretical of course. One thing I think you should understand is this: Even if he says (and probably means) that 'he doesn't care, and he just wants to be with you'... in his mind, and what we are told at the meetings are that he's living a double life. Henceforth, he will be punished accordingly. Either now, or at Armageddon. He probably really does mean it when he makes his commitment to you....with all his heart. but the mind control is so deep seated in this organization, He spends hours at night sleepless thinking about his demise......and how, or what he can do to "fix" the situation. I'm sorry you're caught up in this......it will NOT get better until he makes the solid decision to be with you come hell or high water.....and even then, there will be little voices of destruction in his head for a long time.

  Would you allow your kid to do a really dangerous sport?

  we are torn parents.

  having both been raised jws, we said that we'd allow our kids to do what they wanted to in sports.

  Well...........The sport your son has chosen does have its risks. BUT.at least it IS a relativly safe sport.....I mean it's not as if he's chosen B.A.S.E. jumping , or something. I can relate as I've been starting to teach my 6 year old daughter how to surf..which also has its share of danger.especially where we live. having said this.I also believe it will contribute to her growing up with a POSITIVE self image.. Granted there is always a risk of drowning, paralysis.whatever....but as they grow.and get more experience, I feel the benefits FAR outway the potential risks. Having been raised a witness.I wasn't allowed to do many sports.ie.football, wrestleing..etc...so instead I started doing drugs, and partying....... I SAY RIDE ON LITTLE COWBOY! Cheers

  the tribulation is really starting to speed up it's pace.

  i just read that atleast 3 types of animal and plant life go extinct every hour.

  global warming threatens the entire planet, crimes against women and children are at a all time high, honeybees dying off for unexplained reasons, the threat of nuclear war, the ravage of infectious disease.
